112 AKAP Buses Undergo Ramp Check

112 intercity interprovince (AKAP) buses in some terminals in the capital have been undergone a ramp check through Pulogadung Motor Vehicle Testing Management Unit (UPPKB). From that number, only 37 buses passed the test.

On May 8 until this morning, ramp check has been conducted toward 112 buses. But, 75 out of them are failed

"On May 8 until this morning, ramp check has been conducted toward 112 buses. But, 75 out of them are failed," expressed Tiyana Brotoadi, Head of Executing Unit for Pulogadung UPPKB, Friday (5/12). 

According to him, it is conducted at some terminals. They are Pulogebang, Kampung Rambutan, Kalideres and Tanjung Priok. It is imposed to create safety and comfort for bus passengers.

"To give safety and comfort, we do jemput bola at departure terminals," he expressed. 

For the buses that failed the ramp check, he continued, will be recommended to be ticketed and stopped temporarily. Those may operate if all the fittings are met and repaired.

Similar thing will also be done on May 22-24 and June 15-July 11. "By so, it could minimize traffic accident during homecoming season until Eid ul-Fitr," he closed.
